Policy Statement
- The 24-hour study area is available to IUSM medical students, residents, and fellows by CrimsonCard access when the library is closed.
- Those taking IU School of Medicine classes, but without an IU School of Medicine Crimson card, will need to verify their affiliation.
Reason for Policy
The Ruth Lilly Medical Library’s 24-Hour Study Space was funded by IUSM for use by IUSM students, residents, and fellows. Due to the limited space available, access must be limited these groups.
Procedures
- IU School of Medicine affiliates may request card access at the circulation desk or email the circulation department at libmcirc@iu.edu
- Crimson card and contact information are required from those requesting access to the 24-hour study area.
- The Access Services Manager will process requests, verifying IUSM affiliation as necessary, and will notify users once access is granted.
Sanctions
The Ruth Lilly Medical Library faculty and staff reserve the right to remove card access from those who engage in criminal behavior, such as theft, vandalizing, trespassing, and harassment and report behavior to campus police.
